Islamabad — Member of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence, Sardar Fatahullah Khan Mian Khel, met with Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid in Islamabad to discuss social protection initiatives and measures aimed at supporting vulnerable families across Pakistan.
The meeting, held at the BISP headquarters in the federal capital, was also attended by Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ahmad Karim Kundi.
During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on strengthening social safety nets and improving assistance mechanisms for deserving households under the BISP framework.
Participants reviewed the role of BISP as one of Pakistan’s largest social welfare programmes and explored ways to further enhance its effectiveness in delivering financial assistance and social protection to low-income families.
Senator Rubina Khalid reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding social welfare initiatives and ensuring that relief programmes reach the most vulnerable segments of society.

The meeting also included deliberations on public welfare projects and strategies aimed at improving the reach and impact of social protection programmes across the country.
BISP remains a key pillar of Pakistan’s social safety net system, providing financial assistance to millions of deserving families to help alleviate poverty and improve socio-economic stability.
