Farhan Khan Rejects Hafeez Tahir’s Claims, Says Ainak Wala Jin Was Made With PTV’s Approval

Director Farhan Khan has rejected allegations made by writer Hafeez Tahir regarding Pakistan’s first AI feature film, Ainak Wala Jin, saying the project was produced with the official approval of Pakistan Television (PTV) and dismissing the accusations as “baseless.”

Speaking to The Public Purview, Farhan Khan said the film was completed after obtaining all required permissions through PTV. He stated that the necessary legal approvals were secured and that the relevant rights are held by the state broadcaster.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Farhan Khan criticized what he described as one-sided reporting by some online outlets, saying they published allegations without seeking his response.

He said any party with concerns about the project should pursue the matter through the appropriate legal channels rather than making allegations on social media.

AI filmmaking backed by PTV

Farhan Khan also welcomed PTV’s support for AI-powered filmmaking, describing it as a positive step for Pakistan’s media industry.

He said artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of global film production and believes support for AI-based projects could encourage innovation and inspire a new generation of Pakistani filmmakers.

Film continues cinema run

According to the director, Ainak Wala Jin has remained in cinemas for more than ten days since its release, which he said reflects continued audience interest and a positive response from moviegoers.

The statement comes in response to public allegations made by Hafeez Tahir regarding the project. The dispute involves competing claims by both parties, and any questions related to legal rights or ownership remain subject to determination by the relevant authorities or courts.
