Mamata Kulkarni, the famous Bollywood actress from the 1990s, has taken Sannyas (renunciation). She gained fame for her remarkable performances in hit films like Karan Arjun and Baazi in the 1990s.
Mamata Kulkarni worked alongside superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. In the early 2000s, she bid farewell to Bollywood and moved abroad. During that time, she was involved in a major drug case, which was recently dismissed by the Mumbai High Court, clearing her name.
After receiving a clean chit, Mamata returned to India in December 2024 after 25 years, and her fans were eager to see her back in films. However, the actress has now decided to take Sannyas. According to Indian media reports, she announced her decision during the Kumbh Mela and performed the rituals.
Her name has also been changed to ‘Shri Yamai Mamta Nand Giri’. After performing the Sannyas rituals, she will serve in a local temple.
