Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman says he has fully recovered from injury and has resumed batting, with his focus now firmly set on representing Pakistan at the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Speaking to the media during the National Cricket Academy (NCA) White-Ball Camp in Lahore, the left-handed batter expressed confidence about his recovery and upcoming return to competitive cricket.
Fully Fit and Ready to Return
Fakhar said he has completed his rehabilitation and is back in training after recovering from his injury.
He added that he plans to make his competitive return in the upcoming National Champions Cup, marking the next step in his preparations for international cricket.
Focus Shifts to the 2027 World Cup
The experienced opener said his primary goal is to regain peak form and contribute to Pakistan’s campaign ahead of the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
His comments come after the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the host venues for the 2027 tournament.
Young Players Benefiting From NCA Camp
Fakhar praised the ongoing white-ball training camp, saying it provides valuable opportunities for emerging cricketers to showcase their talent.
He noted that several players who previously received little attention have impressed during the camp and could benefit from the experience in the future.
Accepts Criticism, Backs Pakistan’s Fast Bowlers
Reflecting on the team’s recent performances, Fakhar acknowledged that criticism naturally increases when results do not go a team’s way.
He also expressed confidence in Pakistan’s pace attack, saying the country’s fast bowlers possess tremendous talent and that every team experiences challenging phases.
Fakhar urged supporters to remain optimistic about the future of Pakistan cricket.
