Faisal Zahid Malik appointed Convener of FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Media & Broadcasting

ISLAMABAD: Faisal Zahid Malik has been appointed Chairman and Convener of the Central Standing Committee on Media & Broadcasting of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) for the year 2026.

The appointment was made under the leadership of FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh as part of the federation’s committee structure for the upcoming term.

Faisal Zahid Malik, who serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of “Pakistan Observer,” will lead the committee responsible for coordination between the business community and the media sector, along with discussions related to broadcasting affairs, public communication and policy engagement.

Following his appointment, Faisal Zahid Malik expressed gratitude to Atif Ikram Sheikh for reposing confidence in him and acknowledged the support and cooperation of the committee members. He said collective consultation, unity and professional commitment would help the committee contribute effectively toward the objectives of FPCCI and the wider business community.

The FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Media & Broadcasting is regarded as an important national forum comprising media professionals, broadcasters and representatives from various news organizations across Pakistan.

The committee’s mandate includes supporting policy consultation, strengthening institutional coordination and addressing challenges faced by Pakistan’s media and broadcasting sectors. It also aims to improve communication between businesses, policymakers and the public through constructive engagement with the media industry.

According to the official notification, the committee for 2026 includes prominent media professionals from national and regional organizations, including Adnan Arif, Sarmad Ali, Naveed Kashif, Rafay Khan Niazi, Syed Muhammad Munir Jilani, Pir Haroon Shah, Mohsin Mumtaz Seyal, Waseem Ahmed and Muhammad Humayun Gulzar. Business and public engagement professional Afnan Mashal has also been included in the committee.

Officials said the committee is expected to focus on media development, industry collaboration and policy recommendations related to Pakistan’s evolving broadcasting and communication landscape.
