Pind Dadan Khan: Exposed and hanging electrical wires in Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil have become a torment for the public. Several citizens have lost their lives after coming into contact with these exposed wires. The streets and neighborhoods of Pind Dadan Khan are covered with a web of wires. The excessive use of service-to-service connections has created further distress for residents.
Long wires, extending hundreds of meters from LT poles, are spread all over, with numerous joints in between. Many of these joints are not covered with insulation tape, causing electric current to pass through house walls. This has resulted in the tragic deaths of several citizens. The LT poles in the streets also become electrified, leading to the death of several animals. During the rainy season, many animals have perished.
When local residents request WAPDA officials to cover the joints with insulation tape, they respond by saying that WAPDA management does not provide insulation tape. Officials also claim that the issue is not limited to a single tape but requires thousands of insulation tapes. Residents have reported that sparks can be seen coming from these exposed wires during rainstorms.
Moreover, WAPDA officials are accused of corruption, as they allegedly demand bribes to perform their duties and spend their days seeking opportunities for personal gain. The complaint office has become a hub of corruption. Public circles have urgently appealed to the Chief Executive of IESCO Islamabad to take immediate corrective action.
