The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s (FDRE) Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan stated on Wednesday that Ethiopia’s government had fulfilled the dreams of its people by gaining access to the sea, which was essential for regional integration, peace, and prosperity.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for sea access between the Government of Ethiopia and the Government of Somaliland, according to the Ambassador, is a clear indication of Ethiopia’s strong commitment to regional integration, collective peace, security, and socioeconomic development.

He claimed that H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of FDR Ethiopia, deserves all the credit for this innovation since he has previously been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his unwavering dedication to prosperity and peace.
The ambassador said that H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed had a clear vision for the future of Ethiopia as well as all of Africa and the world.
According to the ambassador, Ethiopia already shares its resources with its African neighbors, forging close ties with these friendly nations. He said that Ethiopia was currently exporting energy to Djibouti, Kenya, and Sudan, which was greatly assisting in the integration and development of the area.
The Ambassador stated that the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project was almost finished and will support Ethiopia’s efforts to promote regional development and prosperity in addition to producing more than 5,150 Megawatts of electricity.
The President of Somaliland, H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, was thanked by Ambassador Jemal Beker for his support of Ethiopia’s efforts to gain access to the sea.
