ATTOCK (MS Bokhari): Assistant Director Machine Readable Passport (MRP) Attock Hafiz Abdul Nasir has said that the government has introduced several modern facilities to make passport services more convenient for citizens, including online fee payment, online renewal and home delivery.

Speaking exclusively to this correspondent, Hafiz Abdul Nasir said passport renewal facilities are now available at NADRA centres across the country, allowing citizens to renew their passports closer to their homes.

He clarified that no modification or correction can be made to a passport through a NADRA centre. Passports are issued according to the record available with NADRA, and citizens must therefore ensure that their NADRA records are accurate and updated before applying.

The Assistant Director said more than 200 visitors visit the Regional Passport Office Attock each day for new passports, renewals and other related services. He said the office operates from Monday to Friday and staff members are making efforts to provide maximum facilities to visitors in a courteous and timely manner.

Regarding the new fee-payment system, Hafiz Abdul Nasir said passport fees can now be paid online through a QR code, eliminating the need for applicants to visit a bank to deposit the fee. He said the facility saves citizens’ time and improves transparency, adding that payment must be made within 72 hours.

He said citizens can also renew their passports from home through the official online web portal, allowing applicants to submit their applications without visiting a passport office.

Hafiz Abdul Nasir said the latest-generation e-passport has also been introduced with modern security features and global acceptance.

According to the fee details shared by the Assistant Director, the ordinary fee for a five-year e-passport is Rs. 9,000, while the urgent fee is Rs. 15,000. For a 10-year passport, the ordinary fee is Rs. 13,500 and the urgent fee is Rs. 22,500.

He added that home delivery of passports is also available at a delivery charge of Rs. 500, enabling applicants to receive their passports at their doorstep.

The Assistant Director advised citizens to apply for passport renewal in a timely manner and avoid dealing with touts or unauthorized agents.
