In China, an elderly citizen’s refusal to sell his home to the government has led authorities to build a motorway around his house.
According to foreign media reports, a resident of Jiangxi city in China rejected the government’s offer of £180,000 to sell his house. After his refusal, the authorities continued the construction work and built a motorway around the house. Now, the house is surrounded by dust, noise, and vibrating walls, trapped within a construction site.
The report also mentions that the citizen now regrets rejecting the government’s offer, as the expressway will soon be completed, and he wonders how he will manage life amidst this chaos.
It is worth noting that the homeowner, Huang, an elderly citizen, lives in the house with his 11-year-old grandson. After lengthy and unsuccessful negotiations, the authorities designed a bypass on both sides of Huang’s house.
