ABBOTTABAD: Member of the National Assembly Dr. Shaista Khan Jadoon has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for National Food Security and Research, with the federal government issuing a formal notification of her appointment.

Dr. Jadoon, who also serves as President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Women Wing Hazara Division, has formally assumed her new responsibilities and pledged to work for the development of the agriculture sector and the welfare of farmers.

Focus on Food Security and Agricultural Growth

Speaking after assuming office, Dr. Shaista Khan Jadoon said ensuring food security and improving the livelihoods of farmers remain among the government’s top priorities.

She emphasized the need to increase agricultural production through modern farming techniques and policies aimed at strengthening the country’s food system.

Commitment to Farmers’ Welfare

The newly appointed parliamentary secretary said the government is committed to protecting farmers’ rights and bringing Pakistan’s agriculture sector in line with international standards.

She noted that various initiatives are being implemented to modernize agriculture and improve productivity across the country.

Dr. Jadoon described agriculture as the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, stating that progress in the sector would help reduce poverty, create employment opportunities, and contribute to overall economic growth.

She said the government is pursuing a comprehensive strategy to enhance food security and boost agricultural output to meet future challenges.

The MNA assured that she would continue to play an active role in Parliament and work toward resolving the concerns of farmers and the broader public.
