WAH CANTT: The Defence Industrial Production Regulatory Authority organised a seminar at Pakistan Ordnance Factories in Wah to promote local defence manufacturing, private investment and stronger cooperation between government institutions and industry.
Government officials, defence production organisations, private-sector companies, academic institutions and investors attended the event, which focused on strengthening Pakistan’s domestic industrial capacity and expanding opportunities for defence exports.
The DIPRA chairman called for greater technological innovation, development of local expertise and stronger public-private partnerships across the defence production sector.
He said a competitive and self-reliant defence industry could reduce dependence on external suppliers, support export growth and contribute to Pakistan’s wider economic development.
Global Defence Market Opportunities
Panel discussions examined emerging opportunities in the international defence market, industrial collaboration and the potential to increase Pakistan’s defence exports.
Participants also discussed improving the regulatory framework, attracting investment and expanding the domestic production of defence equipment and related technologies.
The seminar highlighted the need for closer coordination among regulators, manufacturers, investors and academic institutions to support research, technological development and industrial competitiveness.
The DIPRA chairman thanked participating stakeholders and expressed confidence that continued cooperation would help strengthen domestic production and improve Pakistan’s position in the global defence market.
