Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority Mrs. Kinza Murtaza visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and addressed a meeting of traders at the chamber premises. Chamber President Saqib Rafiq, Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Vice President Faisal Shahzad, Past Presidents, Executive Committee Members and a large number of Chamber members were also present.
Chamber President Saqib Rafique informed DG RDA about the ongoing activities of the chamber, he said that Ring Road is an important project of Rawalpindi, it should be completed as soon as possible and also called for the work of economic zones around Ring Road to be started. preferably so that heavy vehicles, bus terminals including small and medium enterprises and cottage industries can be moved out of the city.
The Director General of Rawalpindi Development Authority Ms. Kinza Murtaza assured the business community that the work on the Ring Road project is proceeding at a brisk pace and progress has been made as per the schedule set by the Chief Minister of Punjab. She informed that the road circuit will be completed in March 2025 and will be operational. She welcomed the formation of a sub-committee on Ring Road Economic Zones by the Rawalpindi Chamber and assured that the RDA would incorporate the recommendations of the committee in the planning and implementation phase.
She appreciated the committee’s recommendations regarding Lai expressway project, high-rise building, housing societies, parking areas, water drainage, Rawat Industrial Park link road, land acquisition, Rawalpindi master plan etc.
