Deputy Commissioner Tank Jamshed Khan has assured journalists of support in addressing their professional concerns, saying the media plays an important role in public awareness and community development.
He made the remarks during a visit to Daman Press Club, where he was received by Press Club President Dr Sheikh Ehsan, Vice President Adam Khan Kundi and other members.
Speaking to journalists, the deputy commissioner said media representatives were an important part of society and served as a bridge between the public and the administration.
He said objective and impartial journalism helps highlight public issues and supports better governance. He urged journalists to continue reporting on community concerns and offering constructive criticism.
“Constructive reporting provides us with an opportunity to identify and rectify our shortcomings,” he said, adding that his office remained open to every citizen.
Jamshed Khan said the district administration was making efforts to resolve problems faced by the people of Tank. He also stressed the need for continued cooperation between the administration and the media to address public issues effectively.
On the occasion, Daman Press Club President Dr Sheikh Ehsan appreciated the deputy commissioner’s public service initiatives in the district.
