Cristiano Ronaldo Hints Current Season Could Be His Last

Portugal football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that the current season could be the final chapter of his illustrious playing career.

Speaking in a recent interview, the 41-year-old forward said this could potentially be his final year in professional football and that he wants to leave the sport with a lasting legacy.

A five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo has won league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia. He is also the leading goalscorer in men’s international football.

The Portugal captain has been playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for almost four years and still has one year remaining on his current contract.

Ronaldo said that once he steps away from football, he wants to enjoy other aspects of life, including travelling, spending more time with his family and playing sports such as padel.

The announcement comes shortly after Ronaldo married his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez. The couple have children together.

Ronaldo is also closing in on another major career milestone, with just 24 goals reportedly separating him from reaching 1,000 goals across his career.

Meanwhile, his longtime rival Lionel Messi has also recently spoken about uncertainty surrounding his own future, adding further intrigue to the next chapter of the careers of two of football’s greatest stars.
