LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said special arrangements are being made for cleanliness, security and disposal of sacrificial animal waste during Eidul Azha, while Punjab will follow the federal government’s decision on Eid holidays.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Azma Bukhari said facilities had been provided to traders at cattle markets and that no cattle market would be allowed outside designated locations.

She said strong security arrangements had been made at cattle markets, while mosques and imambargahs would be washed with rose water ahead of Eid.

Azma Bukhari said the Suthra Punjab programme had been launched for citizens’ convenience, but keeping neighbourhoods clean was also the responsibility of the public.

The Punjab information minister said officials would be encouraged for good cleanliness arrangements, while complaints and negligence would lead to action.

Criticising the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Azma Bukhari said corruption stories were emerging from the province, claiming that billions of rupees had been recovered from the house of a clerk.
