Commander Bahrain National Guard Visits Air Headquarters, Reaffirms Defence Partnership with Pakistan

Islamabad: General Shaikh Mohammed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, visited Air Headquarters, Islamabad. He met Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. The meeting focused on boosting Pakistan-Bahrain defence ties and expanding areas of collaboration.

The Air Chief welcomed the Bahraini commander and briefed him about the modernisation efforts of the Pakistan Air Force. He explained ongoing infrastructure upgrades and new training initiatives. He also highlighted the induction of advanced technologies to strengthen operational readiness. Sidhu said that Pakistan and Bahrain share historic religious ties, which reflect in their close defence partnership.

He emphasized that both countries must continue to build on their past cooperation. According to him, joint training and regular exchanges will further improve professional standards. He assured that PAF remains committed to assisting Bahrain in training programs and knowledge-sharing. He added that such cooperation will also help enhance regional stability in South Asia and the Gulf.

General Shaikh Mohammed praised PAF for its professionalism during the recent conflicts. He highlighted the courage of its personnel and their significant role in maintaining regional stability. Bahrain expressed interest in expanding joint exercises and exploring fresh defence ventures with Pakistan. The commander also admired PAF’s indigenization drive and its contribution to South Asian security. The commander stated that Bahrain views Pakistan as a trusted partner in defence and security matters.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of institutional cooperation. They underlined the need to keep high-level visits frequent. The Bahraini commander confirmed that the head of the Bahrain Air Force will soon visit Pakistan. They also discussed new avenues of collaboration in training pilots, sharing technical expertise, and strengthening counter-terrorism strategies.

The meeting concluded on a note of mutual respect and friendship. Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen Pakistan-Bahrain defence ties. The visit is seen as another step towards a deeper partnership, built on trust, shared goals, and a desire for peace and security.
