Turning to operational matters, the Chief Minister praised Rescue 1122 teams and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). She acknowledged their dedication and tireless service in challenging conditions. Furthermore, she instructed officials to enforce the use of life jackets and life rings during all rescue and relief missions to ensure the safety of both victims and responders.

During the briefing, authorities explained the scale of the disaster. They reported that recent flooding had affected 35 villages near Liaquatpur, including Noorwala, Gul Muhammad Langah, Dera Fareedi, and Chohan. As a result, 84,721 residents and approximately 43 square kilometers of land suffered extensive damage. Crops were destroyed, homes were submerged, and access to basic services was severely disrupted.

To respond effectively, officials established six relief camps and several medical facilities. These included three boat-based clinics and twelve mobile clinics. Thanks to coordinated efforts, teams evacuated 12,604 individuals and 488 livestock from flood-hit areas of Zahir Pir.

Meanwhile, Rescue and Police teams deployed 52 boats in Gul Muhammad Langah. These boats helped reach remote areas cut off by floodwaters and supported ongoing operations. In addition, medical teams provided first aid, vaccinations, and clean drinking water to affected families.

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for sustained support and long-term rehabilitation. She assured residents that the government would continue monitoring the situation and expand relief measures as needed.

Overall, the Maryam Nawaz flood relief visit underscored the provincial government’s commitment to protecting vulnerable populations and restoring normalcy in flood-ravaged regions.
