BEIJING (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with US power company Tesla CEO Elon Musk in Beijing on Sunday, pledging that the Chinese market will always be open to foreign-funded firms.
Calling Tesla’s development in China an example of successful China-U.S. Economic and trade cooperation, Li said, has proven that cooperation based on equality and mutual interest serves the core interests of the two countries and fulfills the common aspirations of the two nations.
We hope that the United States and China will do more to implement the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two countries and promote the development of steady and stable bilateral relations, more benefits for the people of the two countries and the world. Lee said.
Noting that foreign-funded enterprises are integral participants and contributors to China’s development, the Prime Minister said that China’s huge market will always be open.
China will follow through on its promises and increase its efforts to expand market access and provide a more favorable business environment and stronger support for foreign businesses, among other areas, he said.
Musk said that Tesla’s gigafactory in Shanghai is the company’s best factory because of the dedication and wisdom of the Chinese team, and Tesla is willing to increase cooperation with China to win more.
