Islamabad: A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has sentenced Chinese national Yin Gu Shuan to death for the murder of fellow Chinese citizen Zhu Zhen Liang.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka announced the verdict in the case.
The court awarded the death penalty under the relevant murder provision and ordered the convict to pay Rs1 million in compensation to the victim’s heirs. Failure to pay the compensation will result in an additional six months in prison.
The court also sentenced Yin Gu Shuan to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs100,000 under the provision relating to unlawful entry into a residence. Failure to pay the fine will result in further imprisonment.
The murder case was registered at Sumbal Police Station in Islamabad in 2024 following the killing of the Chinese citizen.
The verdict was delivered after proceedings before the Islamabad District and Sessions Court.
