ISLAMABAD: The China Culture Centre and the Department of Archaeology and Museums (DoAM) marked Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a cake-cutting ceremony in Islamabad, highlighting cultural cooperation and growing people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
The event brought together representatives of the China Culture Centre, DoAM officials, Chinese language and culture course participants, and guests from the media and diplomatic outreach community.
Among those attending were Bai Jie and Daud Chen from the China Culture Centre, Maria, Chinese Sales Manager at Mövenpick, Dr Abdul Ghafoor, Deputy Director at DoAM, and Muhammad Azeem, Archaeological Engineer.
Columnist and Media, Communications and Public Diplomacy Advisor T.M. Awan also attended the ceremony.
Participants Highlight Pakistan-China Cultural Ties
Speakers extended Independence Day greetings to the people of Pakistan and underlined the importance of cultural exchanges, language learning and stronger people-to-people engagement between the two countries.
They said cultural diplomacy could play an important role in deepening mutual understanding and strengthening the longstanding Pakistan-China relationship.
Participants of the Experimental Chinese Language and Chinese Culture Course also joined the celebrations, reflecting the growing role of educational and cultural exchanges in bilateral ties.
Commitment to Stronger People-to-People Links
Those attending reaffirmed their commitment to promoting closer Pakistan-China friendship through cultural activities, language learning and broader public engagement.
The ceremony concluded with prayers and good wishes for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity and progress, as well as for the continued strengthening of ties between Pakistan and China.
