Pakistani Entrepreneur Opens New Santa Gloria Coffee & Bakery in Barcelona

BARCELONA: Pakistani businessman Chaudhry Amanat Hussain Mehr has opened a new Santa Gloria Coffee & Bakery outlet in Barcelona, bringing together prominent Pakistani and Spanish figures from political, business, banking and community circles.

The café was formally inaugurated by Pakistan’s Consul General in Barcelona, Murad Ali Wazir, who cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony and praised overseas Pakistani entrepreneurs for contributing to Spain’s economy while strengthening Pakistan’s image abroad.

Mehr, a recipient of the Presidential Youth Award and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, was joined by representatives from Spanish political institutions, financial organisations, business groups and the Pakistani community.

Spanish Political and Business Figures Attend Opening

Among the guests were former Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party senator José María Sala, Catalan parliament member Ernesto Carrión and Mediolanum Bank President Carlos Tusquets.

Senior banking officials Pere Pujadas and Gemma also attended, along with other Spanish business and social figures.

The guests congratulated Mehr on the launch of the new outlet and highlighted the role of entrepreneurship in building stronger commercial and community links between Pakistanis and Spanish society.

Santa Gloria and FoodBox Executives Join Ceremony

Senior representatives from Santa Gloria and FoodBox were also present at the event.

They included Santa Gloria Franchise Director Fernando Sacedo, FoodBox Technical Department Director Jorge Banda, Expansion Director Francesc Codina, Operations Director Sandra Palomar and Training Director Luis Mena.

The officials welcomed the new outlet and acknowledged Mehr’s role in expanding the brand’s presence in Barcelona.

Guests toured the café and viewed its facilities and interior design before attending a reception hosted at the venue.

Overseas Pakistani Entrepreneurship Highlighted

Pakistani business leaders, community representatives and members of the diaspora in Barcelona also joined the ceremony.

Speakers said overseas Pakistani entrepreneurs play an important role in creating jobs, supporting local economies and promoting a positive image of Pakistan through successful business ventures.

The opening was also presented as an example for younger members of the Pakistani community seeking to build careers in business and entrepreneurship abroad.
