Russian authorities say a cat was intercepted near a prison while allegedly being used to smuggle suspected drugs and other prohibited items into the facility, prompting an investigation into those behind the operation.
Officials said the animal was detained after displaying suspicious movement near the prison. During an inspection, officers found a small package attached to the cat’s body containing items believed to be intended for delivery inside the prison.

According to Russian officials, the package allegedly contained suspected narcotics and other prohibited materials.
Authorities believe the cat may have been trained or conditioned with food to follow a specific route to the prison. Investigators are now working to identify the individuals responsible for the alleged smuggling attempt.
