Indian doctor Shereen Sabeer briefly stepped away from her wedding celebrations in Kerala after two women from the catering team suddenly became unwell. The incident was captured on video and later circulated widely on social media.
According to reports, Dr Shereen was on the wedding stage when one of the catering workers developed a nosebleed, while another complained of dizziness and weakness. Still dressed in her bridal attire, she immediately went to check on them and provided initial medical assistance.
Doctor Steps In During Wedding
Dr Shereen advised the woman with the nosebleed to lean forward, pinch the soft part of her nose and breathe through her mouth. The other woman, who was experiencing dizziness, was advised to lie down with her legs elevated.
Dr Shereen is pursuing an MD in emergency medicine at a local hospital. Her medical training helped her respond promptly when the two women needed assistance during the wedding.
The moment was recorded and later went viral on social media, with users praising the doctor for stepping away from her wedding celebrations to help those who were unwell.
Bride Explains Why She Helped
Dr Shereen said guests at the wedding knew she was a doctor and called on her when the two women required assistance. She said she responded in her professional capacity and provided the help she could.
The video has since attracted widespread attention online, largely because the doctor was seen assisting the women while still dressed as a bride.
