Naseem Shah stated that the team is focused on the entire tournament and hasn’t specifically discussed strategies for playing against India yet. He emphasized that both teams will be under pressure in the high-stakes Pakistan-India match.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, the Pakistani fast bowler highlighted that globally, fast bowlers typically maintain speeds around 140 km/h, with only a few consistently exceeding this mark. He stressed the importance of maintaining a good line and length on these wickets, acknowledging that both pacers and spinners play crucial roles.
“Our focus is on the entire tournament. So far, there hasn’t been any specific discussion within the team about playing against India. Pakistan-India matches always come with pressure for both sides. We have lost closely contested matches in the past, and we aim to avoid repeating mistakes,” Naseem said.
Reflecting on recent performances, he added, “In the last two or three series, our fast bowlers have performed well. I have confidence in myself to give my best. Our bowling wasn’t great in the last match, but strong performances cover up past mistakes. I am hopeful of delivering quality bowling in this tournament.”
Praising the stadiums, he remarked, “The stadiums are excellent, and the selected team is the best possible. Our recent performances weren’t up to the mark, but I am hopeful for improvements. Fast bowlers can contribute significantly by maintaining a disciplined line and length. Every match provides learning opportunities.”
He concluded by saying, “We analyze our mistakes as a team and work on corrections. We will strive to win the second match in Karachi, and we are confident about positive results. Some mistakes can cost matches, but we hope to play well throughout this tournament.”
