November 2, 2026: Cryptocurrency exchange Binance recorded approximately $3.64 billion in net withdrawals on Sunday after resuming operations following a cyberattack that forced the platform to temporarily suspend trading activities.

The surge in withdrawals came after reports that digital assets worth more than $6 billion had been affected by the cyberattack, prompting users to move funds out of the exchange.

According to figures shared by Binance and reported by the BBC, users withdrew $4.649 billion between 6am and 3:30pm GMT on November 1.

During the same period, the platform received approximately $1.01 billion in deposits, resulting in net outflows of around $3.64 billion.

The figures indicate that withdrawals substantially exceeded deposits as users responded to the disruption and the subsequent restoration of services.

Binance said in a statement on social media platform X that withdrawal activity increased sharply during the initial hours after operations resumed.

However, the exchange reported that the pace of withdrawals subsequently slowed and that activity was stabilising in line with expectations.

The incident has drawn attention to the security of cryptocurrency trading platforms and the potential impact of cyberattacks on user confidence.

Binance has indicated that withdrawal activity is returning to normal following the initial surge.
