QUETTA: The security convoy of Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Langove came under fire from unidentified armed assailants in Mastung district, leaving three police personnel injured, according to police.
The incident took place at Khadkocha Goru in Mastung while the convoy was travelling from Kalat towards Quetta.
According to police, armed attackers opened fire on the security convoy. A gunbattle followed, during which three personnel sustained injuries.
The injured officers were shifted to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital in Mastung for medical treatment.
The identity and motive of the attackers were not immediately known. Security authorities are expected to investigate the incident and determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The attack comes amid continuing security concerns in Balochistan, where security personnel have faced militant violence in several districts. Recent attacks in the province have also targeted police and other security forces.
