LAHORE: Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s demand for a judicial commission regarding the May 9 incident.
In her reply, Bukhari said that the KP government’s letter to the Peshawar High Court, demanding the formation of a judicial commission, was a failed attempt to hide behind judicial protection. She likened it to a coward running towards a city when facing imminent death.
The information minister emphasized that judicial commissions were usually formed for unclear and clarified matters.
She claimed that evidence of the failed May 9 uprising, including videos, photographs and audio, was already available.
She described the events of May 9 as a conspiracy against the country and claimed that the identities of those involved, including the facilitators and masterminds, had already been revealed.
The PML-N leader also remarked that the KP government’s move to seek a judicial commission was tantamount to admitting its own crimes.
She noted that the “miscreant” had already admitted his involvement in the May 9 riots, confirmed by Salman Akram Raja.
Bokhari further challenged the perpetrators by declaring: “Run, scoundrel, run, how far will you run? May 9 will haunt you. One cannot become Che Guevara or Nelson Mandela with judicial cover.”
