KARACHI: Pakistani actor, host and producer Azfar Ali has spoken publicly about his third marriage for the first time, sharing details about his relationship with his wife, Rida Al Zahra.
Speaking on Nadia Khan’s show, Azfar revealed that he married Rida in October last year in what he described as an arranged marriage.
The actor said his sisters had repeatedly encouraged him to consider marriage, although he was initially reluctant to marry for a third time. His sister eventually suggested Rida’s proposal to him. At the time, Rida was living in Dubai.
Azfar said the couple communicated for around six months before getting married. He told Rida before the marriage that she would eventually need to move to Pakistan because he could not permanently relocate to Dubai, as his professional and personal life was based in Pakistan.
Reflecting on his approach to relationships, Azfar said time and experience had changed his perspective. He noted that around 12 years had passed since his second divorce and that he now viewed relationships differently.
The actor said he had previously focused heavily on his career but now considers his personal life an important priority as well. He added that he does not put pressure on his wife and prefers to give her space.
Azfar was previously married to actresses Salma Hassan and Naveen Naqvi. Both marriages eventually ended in divorce.
