Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan has reacted humorously to a fake report about his death that circulated on social media.
A video circulating online shows the 28-year-old cricketer laughing with friends after coming across the false reports. Responding sarcastically, Azam Khan said, “He was a good player, poor guy. He was supposed to play for Pakistan tomorrow, but he died.”
Azam Khan last represented Pakistan in a T20 International against the United States on June 6, 2024, during the T20 World Cup.
He has played 14 T20 internationals for Pakistan, scoring 88 runs.
The incident comes amid a growing trend of fake news and digitally manipulated content involving public figures. False reports claiming the deaths of celebrities and athletes have repeatedly circulated on social media, highlighting the challenges posed by misinformation.
