Earlier, Australia beat Namibia by just 72 runs.
Off-spinner Adam Zampa became the first Australian male cricketer to take 100 wickets in T20I cricket after taking figures of 4-12 in four overs.
“It’s a great feeling to win tonight and be in the Super Eight,” Zampa said after being named Player of the Match.
The middle, especially the captain, has been encouraging to take wickets.
“We’re happy, it’s the first step to take the trophy home, but it’s a long way to go.”
Pacer Josh Hazlewood claimed two wickets for 18 in four overs as Australia dominated the proceedings with the ball. Marcus Stoinis also took several wickets as Namibia were bundled out in 17 overs.
Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus, who made 17, was the top scorer with 36 off 43 balls with four fours and a six.
Besides Erasmus, Michael van Lingen was the only other player to reach double figures with 10 goals. But they played each other before this tournament, with Australia winning by seven wickets convincingly.
