RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Friday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia as he met the Kingdom’s Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Saudi minister called on Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), on August 28, with the two sides discussing matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the deep-rooted and brotherly ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meeting also focused on prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in agriculture and environmental sustainability — two areas identified by the Saudi side for deeper engagement with Pakistan.
AlFadley appreciated Pakistan’s positive role in promoting peace and stability in the region and expressed Saudi Arabia’s desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The Saudi minister’s meeting at GHQ underscored the broader relationship between Islamabad and Riyadh, with both sides reiterating their interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
