PESHAWAR, Tuesday, September 22, 2026: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday reviewed the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counter-terrorism operations and border management measures during a visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing security environment across the province, counter-terrorism operations, measures being taken for effective border management and the operational preparedness of formations deployed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The COAS and CDF appreciated the high morale, readiness and professionalism of officers and troops serving in the province and acknowledged their continued commitment to protecting the country and its people.
He directed the formations to maintain vigilance and uphold the highest standards of operational preparedness amid the evolving security environment.
Field Marshal Munir said the Armed Forces, backed by the nation, remained determined to defeat terrorism and work towards lasting peace and stability across Pakistan.
During the visit, the army chief also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha for personnel who lost their lives in defence of the country and during counter-terrorism operations.
Paying tribute to the fallen personnel, he reaffirmed that their sacrifices would not be forgotten.
Commander Peshawar Corps received Field Marshal Munir upon his arrival at Corps Headquarters.
The visit comes as security forces continue counter-terrorism operations and border-management efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, keeping operational readiness and security in the province a key focus.
