Asian Doubles Squash Championship: Pakistan Win Silver Medal

SARAWAK: Pakistan won the silver medal at the Asian Doubles Squash Championship in Malaysia after reaching the final of the event.

In the final held in Sarawak, Pakistan’s pair of Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal faced arch-rivals India. The Indian pair defeated Pakistan 2-1 to claim the title.

Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal delivered a strong performance throughout the championship and remained unbeaten until the final.

The Pakistani pair had qualified for the final after defeating Malaysia 2-0 in the semi-final. Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal won the match 11-8 and 11-5.

A total of 15 teams from across Asia participated in the Asian Doubles Squash Championship.

Pakistan’s second pair, Muhammad Hamza Khan and Muhammad Asim Khan, also competed in the event and finished fifth.

Despite the defeat in the final, Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal’s performance is being seen as an important result for Pakistan squash, as both players showed consistent form throughout the tournament.
