KARACHI: The Members Liaison Committee of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organised a Mehfil-e-Milad-e-Mustafa ﷺ for women, bringing together a large number of female members along with prominent literary and social figures.
Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Committee Chand Gul Shah attended the gathering as a special guest. Renowned female Naat reciters presented devotional poetry in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, while participants joined in Durood-o-Salam in a spiritual atmosphere.
Women Participate in Religious Gathering
The Mehfil was attended by Sana Ali, Tabassum Warsi, Naila Seemi, Saba Mahmood, Shabana Sehar, Rubina Alvi, Shahida Israr, Huma Mughal, Samina Kamal, Umima, Sara Moin, Sadaf Aslam, Mona Niaz and Uroosa Ali, among others.
Farhana Owais hosted the programme. The gathering concluded with an emotional prayer, including supplications for the security, stability and prosperity of Pakistan and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Chand Gul Shah described her participation in the Mehfil as an honour and blessing. She said such gatherings provide women with an opportunity to strengthen their connection with the love of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, religious values and cherished traditions.
She also appreciated the Arts Council for organising activities for women and presented gifts to the participating Naat reciters in recognition of their contributions.
Speakers Highlight Teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Professor Dr. Sajida Parveen and Professor Naheed Abrar spoke about the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, describing his Seerah as an example for humanity.
They highlighted values including love, brotherhood, patience, tolerance, justice, equality and good manners. They also noted the emphasis placed in the Prophet’s teachings on protecting the rights of vulnerable members of society, including women, children and those in need.
The speakers said understanding and following the Seerah remains important in contemporary society and can help promote compassion, respect and humanity.
Arts Council Highlights Cultural and Religious Activities
Chairperson of the Members Liaison Committee Huma Mir said love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ is an essential part of faith and that Milad gatherings help strengthen devotion and spiritual connection.
She said the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, under the leadership of President Muhammad Ahmed Shah, works to promote literature and the arts while also supporting activities connected with cultural, traditional and religious values.
The Mehfil concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s security, stability and prosperity, as well as for the well-being of the Muslim Ummah.
