The National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) has declared artificial intelligence chatbots a security risk.

In an advisory issued by the National Computer Emergency Response Team, AI chatbots have been highlighted as a security concern. According to the advisory, the use of AI chatbots in professional and personal tasks has increased significantly, offering modern solutions for productivity and engagement.

However, tools like ChatGPT and other chatbots store sensitive information, raising the risk of data exposure. Conversations with AI chatbots often include sensitive data, such as business strategies or personal discussions, which could potentially be leaked.

The advisory emphasized the need for a robust framework to mitigate the cyber threats posed by AI chatbots. Users are advised to refrain from entering sensitive data into AI chatbots.

The National CERT also recommended regular security scans of systems. Additionally, the advisory suggested that users should disable chat-saving features while using AI chatbots and that organizations should use monitoring tools to detect suspicious chatbot activities.
