RAWALPINDI, July 30, 2026: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi has launched a new institutional quality framework aimed at improving academic performance, governance and research standards in line with national and international benchmarks.
The initiative was discussed at the first meeting of the university’s Institutional Quality Circle Board, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman and organised by the Directorate of Quality Enhancement.
Deans, directors, department chairpersons, administrative heads and representatives from the university’s academic and advanced studies divisions attended the meeting.
Speaking to participants, the vice chancellor said the university was being developed into a model institution capable of meeting international academic and administrative standards.
He stressed the need for continuous quality improvement, transparent governance and regular performance monitoring through key performance indicators.
The meeting also focused on strengthening stakeholder feedback systems, improving teaching and learning outcomes and promoting research, innovation and institutional collaboration.
Participants reviewed measures to improve the university’s quality assurance mechanisms and ensure compliance with standards set by the Higher Education Commission and other accreditation bodies.
Director Quality Enhancement Prof. Dr. Muhammad Javaid Asad briefed the board on the proposed reforms and implementation priorities.
The meeting approved a set of recommendations and established a follow-up mechanism to monitor progress on quality enhancement initiatives.
University officials said the measures were intended to improve accountability, academic delivery and institutional performance across departments.
