SWAT: Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mian Iftikhar Hussain alleged that three elections were held in the country but the ANP has been continuously defeated to keep it out of the parliament, but we declared that ANP can be kept out of the parliament but no one can drive us out of the political and public arena.
He expressed these views while addressing the anniversary ceremony of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan at Wadoodia Hall Saidu Sharif in Swat district on Friday.
On this occasion, ANP Central General Secretary Dr. Muhammad Saleem Khan, Provincial General Secretary Hussain Shah, Swat District President Sher Shah Khan, General Secretary Abdul Malik and other leaders also spoke.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that if anyone wants peace in Pakistan, this is not possible without the ANP, but now the situation has changed and we are not in favor of military operations and negotiations under any circumstances.
He said that if free and fair elections were held in the country, ANP would come to power in this province.
“Speaking about the establishment of a Cantonment Board in Kabal Tehsil of Swat district, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that we are not against the Cantonment Board, but we will not allow people’s lands to be taken and our party will raise its voice strongly on the floor of the Assembly and Senate against this move,” he said.
He said that there was a time when democracy and voting were considered blasphemy in Swat and we implemented the Sharia justice system in Malakand division through negotiations, but despite this, terrorist acts did not stop, so the people also left their side and after a successful operation, exemplary peace was established in Malakand division.
He said that if a policy is made according to the constitution, we will accept it because our only demand is to ensure the implementation of the National Action Plan.
He said that due to the disappointing performance of the PTI government, people are being attracted towards the Awami National Party and that is why the successful and historic rallies held across the province on the anniversaries of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan are proving that we are not fighting for power but for the rights of the Pakhtuns. He said that we have not achieved peace in Swat through charity but due to the sacrifices of ANP leaders and workers and we will not allow this peace to be sabotaged under any circumstances.
