Indian social media influencer and actress Anjali Arora has reportedly been served a legal notice seeking Rs120 million in damages by organisers of an event in Kanpur.
According to Indian media reports, the organisers allege that Arora was contracted to perform for 45 minutes but performed for only around 12 minutes before leaving the event.
The organisers have also reportedly approached Sarvopur Nagar Police Station in Kanpur, seeking registration of a first information report against the actress.
The legal notice reportedly seeks compensation for alleged financial losses, damage to professional and social reputation, and mental distress.
Organisers and Anjali Arora Give Different Accounts
The organisers claimed that Arora became upset when her popular song “Kacha Badam” was played during the event, despite the song being closely associated with her rise to fame.
Arora, however, addressed the controversy through three videos posted on Instagram. She said she had no objection to the song and explained that her concerns were related to security arrangements and alleged interference with her personal boundaries.
According to Arora, the doorbell of her hotel room was repeatedly rung and several people entered her room seeking photographs.
The allegations and counterclaims remain part of the ongoing dispute.
