An alleged voice note attributed to Kaggi Butt, the prime suspect in the murder of PTI leader Abdullah Tahir, has surfaced as the investigation into the high-profile killing continues.
According to reports, the voice recording allegedly features the suspect making threatening remarks, claiming that he still had several enemies and expressing his intention to target them. In the recording, he also reportedly says he respects state institutions and describes them as a national asset.
The authenticity of the alleged voice note has not been independently verified by authorities.
Meanwhile, investigators have revealed that Abdullah Tahir’s movements were allegedly monitored using drones before the attack. Sources said reports of drone activity around the victim’s residence before the incident are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police further stated that the suspects allegedly used a rented vehicle fitted with a fake registration plate to carry out the attack. After the incident, the fake plate was reportedly removed and replaced with the vehicle’s original registration number.
According to investigators, the vehicle was rented from Gujranwala, while the alleged main shooter, identified as Arslan Jatt, is believed to have transported the other suspects from Gujranwala to Lahore.
Police have taken six individuals into custody on allegations of facilitating the crime. However, the alleged main shooters remain at large, and raids are continuing at multiple locations to arrest them.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and further details will emerge as evidence is examined.
