Dhudial — All tehsil veterinary hospitals in Chakwal have received ultrasound machines to enhance animal healthcare. As a significant step toward improving veterinary services, all tehsil veterinary hospitals in Chakwal district have been equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound machines. This initiative, launched under special directives from the Chief Minister of Punjab and led by the Secretary of Livestock, aims to modernize diagnostic capabilities and enhance animal welfare in rural areas.

Additional Director of Livestock, Dr. Sohail Manzoor, stated that the introduction of ultrasound machines will enable timely diagnosis of reproductive and internal health issues in livestock, ultimately boosting the productivity of local farmers. He further added, “This development will particularly benefit dairy and livestock farmers who heavily rely on the health of their animals for their livelihood.”

These portable ultrasound units will be operated by trained veterinary officers. The training process is currently underway at the University of Animal Sciences, and it is expected to significantly reduce the time and cost associated with traditional diagnostic methods. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader agenda to strengthen livestock infrastructure and support rural economies.

Farmers across the district have welcomed the move, expressing hope that improved services will lead to better herd health management and increased productivity.
