LOWER DIR:An all-party conference was organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Dir Payin to seek suggestions for solving the non-completion of ongoing development projects across the district, the worst traffic problems and public problems. Local leaders of all political parties, social leaders and representatives of the business community participated in the conference. Expressing serious concern over the long-pending projects, it was decided to adopt a joint and practical course of action.
The all-party conference was held at a local hotel under the chairmanship of Ameer Sirajuddin of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Dir Payin, while the conference declaration was presented by JUI General Secretary Maulana Muhammad Huzaifa. In the meeting, deep concern was expressed over the non-construction of the ten-kilometer-long Talaash bypass despite the passage of ten years, the failure to conduct classes at Timergara Medical College even after eleven years, the worst traffic jams in the headquarters Timergara and the district and the closure of local flour mills.

The conference was addressed by Jamaat-e-Islami General Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, former Member of National Assembly Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub Khan, former Finance Minister Muzaffar Syed Advocate, Vice President of Anjuman Tajran Malakand Division Haji Anwaruddin, Spokesperson of PPP Lower Dir Nawabzada Irfan Khan, Najibullah Atmani, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Representative Malik Zia-ul-Haq, Awami National Party Imranullah Talker, PML-N President Malik Farooq Iqbal Yousafzai, General Secretary Sardar Javed Akhtar Advocate, Barrister Aurangzeb and National Poet Tajik, among other leaders.
Despite being invited, displeasure was expressed over the non-participation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members of the National and Provincial Assembly. The speakers demanded that the unfinished projects of Talaash Bypass and Kundro Connection Bridge be completed immediately to solve the problem of traffic jams in the headquarters Timergara and throughout the district and funds be released to the relevant contractors.
The conference also expressed concern over the Koto Hydel Power Project, which was operational after 11 years and shut down due to technical issues in a short period of just six months, and demanded that the project be immediately activated to meet the local electricity needs. The speakers said that due to the incompetence of the Food Department, local flour mills are inactive, due to which thousands of tons of wheat are rotting, it was demanded that the flour mills be immediately activated and wheat should be used according to local needs.
The participants termed Timergara Medical College as a clear example of the provincial government’s incompetence and said that the non-conclusion of classes despite the passage of 11 years is a clear failure of the current members of the National and Provincial Assembly. The meeting alleged that government jobs were distributed in the college and recruitments were allegedly made for money, demanding an immediate investigation into which the provincial government was asked to immediately start classes after fulfilling all the basic requirements of the college.
In the conference declaration, it was also decided to form a coordination jirga under the coordination of General Secretary Maulana Muhammad Huzaifa for mutual communication and effective communication with higher authorities, which will strive for immediate solutions to the public problems of Dir by staying in touch with the elected members of the National Assembly, the provincial and federal governments.
