HYDERABAD: Aga Khan Maternal and Child Care Centre marked Mother’s Day by organising a free health camp in Hyderabad, offering women medical screenings, reproductive health consultations and nutrition counselling.
Held under the theme “Caring for Ammi, at Every Stage,” the one-day event attracted women from Hyderabad and nearby districts seeking access to health services and expert medical advice at no cost.
The camp included general health check-ups, blood pressure screening and consultations on reproductive health issues such as PCOS, fertility, menopause and menstrual health. Dietitians also provided personalised nutrition and lifestyle guidance to participants.
Free screenings included blood sugar monitoring and bone density assessments, while discounted ultrasound services were also offered to improve access to diagnostic care.
Focus on maternal health awareness
Syed Sohail said mothers often neglect their own health despite playing a central role in family life.
He said the health camp reflected AKMCCC’s continued efforts to improve maternal and child healthcare services in Hyderabad and other parts of Sindh through community outreach programmes.
The event also featured awareness sessions on family planning, where healthcare experts discussed contraception methods, benefits and related health information.
Organisers arranged games, activities and giveaways during the event, with many women attending alongside family members as part of the Mother’s Day celebrations.
