The trials for the U-15, U-17, and U-19 cricket teams for the Abbottabad Region for the 2024-25 season were successfully held at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium. Under the leadership of Rameez Ahmad, Head Coach District Abbottabad, these trials attracted a large number of young, aspiring cricketers.
During the first phase of selection, a total of 108 players participated across different age groups, with 10 players selected from each category. These players showcased impressive skills and potential, earning their place in the second phase of the selection process.
In the second phase, a more detailed evaluation took place, and Regional Head Coach Saqib Faqir, together with District Coach Rameez Ahmad, further shortlisted 5 players from each age group. These selected players will now move on to a specialized training camp in Peshawar, where they will receive focused coaching to fine-tune their skills and prepare for the upcoming season.
Rameez Ahmad, reflecting on the selection process, stated, “The selection was made after a thorough evaluation of their skills and potential. We were impressed with the talent displayed by the young athletes, and we are excited to see them grow further. The 30 selected players will receive the necessary coaching to refine their techniques, and we are committed to providing them with the best possible platform to showcase their abilities.” The coaching staff remains dedicated to nurturing the talent of these young cricketers, ensuring that they achieve their full potential. With the upcoming camp in Peshawar, there is high anticipation for the further development of these promising athletes as they prepare to represent the Abbottabad Region in the 2024-25 season.
