MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has addressed criticism surrounding his reported third marriage, speaking publicly about his wife Gauri Spratt’s religious background and rejecting allegations circulating on social media.

According to Indian media reports, Khan said Gauri Spratt does not belong to a Hindu family but comes from a Christian background. He also dismissed several claims about his personal life, saying many of the narratives being shared online are inaccurate.

Aamir Khan Rejects ‘Love Jihad’ Allegations

Responding to allegations linking his marriage to the controversial “love jihad” narrative, Aamir Khan said his family has always respected people of different faiths and cultures.

He said imposing religious beliefs on another person has never been part of his family’s values and emphasized that mutual respect has always guided their personal relationships.

Family Has a History of Interfaith Marriages

Khan noted that both of his sisters are married to Hindu men, adding that their family has never objected to anyone’s religious beliefs.

He said religious harmony and respect for individual choice have long been traditions within his family.

No Religious Conversions, Actor Says

The actor further stated that none of his three wives had converted their religion during their marriages to him. He argued that his personal life should not be turned into a political or religious controversy.

His comments come amid ongoing online debate following reports of his third marriage, which has drawn mixed reactions from some religious and political groups in India.

While some critics questioned the marriage, Khan reiterated that he believes in religious harmony, personal freedom, and mutual respect rather than divisive campaigns.
