Pind Dadan Khan: Following the orders of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Assistant Commissioner Pind Dadan Khan, Madam Nadia Parveen, held a consultative meeting with the Central Traders Association of Pind Dadan Khan after the recent grand operation to remove encroachments. The meeting was chaired by Hafiz Abdul Waheed, the Patron-in-Chief.
Despite attending a live meeting with Punjab’s Chief Secretary along with DCs and ACs from across Punjab, the Assistant Commissioner allotted time to the business community and informed them about the Punjab government’s future plan. She stated that designated and recommended colored advertising boards would be installed throughout the city by the district administration. However, there are currently no clear directives regarding the installation of canopies to protect against harsh weather conditions, rains, and dusty storms.
The Assistant Commissioner candidly acknowledged the economic downturn in the city and said, “You can see for yourselves how devastating the removal of encroachments has been in other cities. Despite this, we have tried to provide maximum relief to the public here.”
The traders’ delegation responded by stating that they would convene a cabinet meeting and update her. During the discussion, topics such as city cleanliness, stray animals wandering on main roads, and converting the central medians of dual carriageways into green belts were also raised. The Assistant Commissioner assured immediate implementation of these measures.
