Google Maps is rolling out a new feature that will be especially helpful for car owners.
Four years ago, Google introduced the option for users to customize the appearance of their vehicle icon on the navigation screen. Now, this customization feature is being enhanced.
According to an Android Police report, Google Maps is adding five new car model options, including a Jeep, hatchback, and more, along with the ability to choose from eight new colors.
Previously, users had only four options: a regular arrow icon, a yellow SUV, a red car, and a green pickup truck. Now, there will be eight vehicle icons (if you count the arrow as a vehicle) available in eight colors.
The report mentions that this feature is currently available to a limited number of users on the iOS version of Google Maps. However, it is expected to gradually become available to Android users as well.
