Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Wednesday said there are no permanent friends or enemies in politics and stressed the former ruling party’s willingness to engage in political dialogue.
Before a party meeting at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, Gohar said he was open to Pakhtunkhwa National Aamiamiami Party (PkMAP) chief Mahmud Khan Achakzai and Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain-e-Pakistan (TTAP) chairman leading talks.
“We are looking for rig-free elections and a credible judiciary,” Gohar said.
The PTI leader confirmed the ongoing talks with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman and hoped for his support.
“Concord is necessary for national stability,” said Gohar, who scheduled additional meetings with JUI-F leaders.
The PTI leader pointed to his unique style of negotiation and said, “Achakzai will do as he wants.”
Gohar rejected PTI founder Imran Khan’s “assurance” that the political phase would continue.
“It would be better if they want to push this issue forward,” he said, optimistic about the role of allies.
However, the party made it clear that the organization would only hold talks with the authorities and reiterated its previous stance not to enter into a “deal”.
Speaking outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail after meeting jailed PTI founder chief Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar told the media that he and other party leaders believed in the need to talk to the former prime minister and the government. He nodded to go forward.
He also said that Imran just wants to forgive what he went through so that the country can move forward.
Gohar said the PTI has repeatedly emphasized the need for dialogue and that the “power brokers” should listen to the party now.
Leader release, election transparency on cards as PTI picks Achakzai to lead talks
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Mahmud Khan Achakzai of Pushtunhwa National Amamiami Party (PkMAP) to lead talks through the platform of opposition alliance Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Ayeen. (TTAP).

Meanwhile, PkMAP chairman Achakzai, who will be given full authority to lead the discussion, will take further action in this regard after the PTI’s decision is finalised.
With the development of consensus among all stakeholders on a common charter that will be the basis of negotiations, the talks will focus on issues related to the release of imprisoned leaders and workers, electoral transparency, and the constitutional limits of the judiciary and parliament. . and other government agencies.
Apart from that, PTI political leaders will be part of the talks.
The development came a day after PTI chief Barrister Gohar said that jailed party founder Imran Khan had been cleared for talks with the government and that the party would start talks after talking to Achakzai.
He agreed with us on this issue, said Gohar, a reporter outside Adiala Jail.
The PTI chief said that the former prime minister wanted the channel of dialogue to be opened. He told reporters that he was willing to forgive what had happened to reconcile with Khan.
“I am ready to forgive what happened to me,” the PTI chief said several times.
“The option given by the SC is also being examined,” said Barrister Gohar when asked whether the talks would be conducted on the advice of the Supreme Court.
However, he said it was PTI’s “own decision” to hold talks.
“The founder of PTI did not write to the SC for talks. PTI will also respond to the possibility of talks.”
Sources told Geo News that the PTI leader’s speech came as Khan decided to “back down” from his firm stand and ordered the party leadership to communicate inside and outside Parliament.
Sources said the party’s leadership is focused on holding talks with several political parties outside Parliament, and its members of parliament have also been asked to develop ties with the party in the governing coalition government.
