ATHENS: British TV presenter and fitness advocate Michael Mosley has been found dead on the Greek island of Symi, the island’s deputy mayor told Reuters on Sunday.
Mosley, 67, went missing on Wednesday after walking alone on a coastal path in hot weather.
police spokesperson Konstantina Dimoglidou said the body of a man previously identified as Mosley was found in the Agia Marina area, but the identification is pending.
“The mayor of the island and journalists from the state television ERT are filming in the Agia Marina area,” said Deputy Mayor Nikitas Grillis. Of course he is.”
Another police official said the body was found in a rocky outcrop near the sea, denying reports that it was found in a cave. Police are investigating the incident.
Mosley, who was on the island with his wife, was last seen alive at 1:30pm (1030 GMT) on Wednesday.
He went missing after starting a search along the rocky coastal road from Agios Nikolaos beach to the village of Pedi.
