Pakistan, Tajikistan Vow to Boost Defence Cooperation

Rawalpindi — Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali Abdulrahim, Minister of Defence of Tajikistan, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

Focus on Regional Security and Defence Cooperation

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and bilateral defence cooperation. They expressed a firm resolve to further strengthen military-to-military collaboration, particularly in the areas of training, counter-terrorism, and regional security.

Tajik Defence Minister Praises Pak Army

The Tajik Defence Minister lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and acknowledged its role in promoting regional stability and peace.

Commitment to Strengthening Ties

Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the importance of collective efforts for regional stability and prosperity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening defence and security ties with Tajikistan, highlighting the shared vision of both nations for peace and cooperation in the region.
