RAWALPINDI: Four terrorists were killed in an Intelligence Operation (IBO) in North Waziristan district, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
In a statement, the Army’s media wing said that during the operation, there was an intense gunfight between the soldiers and the terrorists, as a result of which the terrorists were killed.
“Arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the slain terrorists who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” the statement said.
She added that a sanitization operation was underway to eliminate any more terrorists found in the area, adding that local residents appreciated the soldiers and “expressed their full support to eliminate the threat of terrorism.”
The development comes just a day after two terrorists — including a terror ring leader named Shamrooz alias Sheenay — were killed in separate operations by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist attacks in Balochistan and KP provinces over the past few months, which has also disrupted the pre-election phase in some provinces.
